Attributed to Ralph D. Curtis (American, 1808-1885), ca. 1840. Oil on poplar board. Known as "the long neck artist". Seated silver haired gentleman in a black coat, white shirt and large neck tie. 32"h. 23.75"w.

Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of the Late Ray Yoder (Bay Village, Ohio); ex MacKay and Field (Harper Woods, Michigan), receipt to back.

  • Condition: Most of the dowls covering screws have come out, age split lower left of panel, scuffs.
