FEDERAL INLAID TALL CASE CLOCK WITH RILEY WHITING (WINCHESTER, CONNECTICUT) WORKS.
American, 19th Century. Cherry with pine secondary. Bonnet with broken arch pediment and brass urn finial, tombstone arched door, reeded pilasters with line and banded inlays. Case with coved molding under bonnet and at waist, quarter round reeded pilasters overlapping door with line, banded and teardrop shaped inlays. Base with line, fans and rose compass inlay and nicely shaped aprons. Painted wood face with floral decoration, gold trim and lettered "R. Whiting, Winchester", wood works, pendulum, bob and weights. 89"h. 17.75"w. 10.25"d. From the lifetime collection of the late Audree and Bryce Chase (Port Royal, South Carolina).
