American (Morgan County, Indiana), circa 1880. Carved wood, wire, glass beads and cloth. Articulated man wearing a top hat with fabric band and holding a tray of suspended glass balls. Face with drawn and carved features. On modern stand. 14.75"h. Exhibited and illustrated (page 51): "Rural Material Culture: Selections From Indiana and Borders", Richmond Art Museum, June 5 - July 31, 2011 (David Good, curator).
