GILT ROOSTER WEATHERVANE.
American, late 19th Century. Copper, zinc and wood. Full molded copper body crowing rooster. Attached flat copper tail and cast zinc legs. Rooster is perched on a gilt ball. Nice original gilt surface with some traces of yellow and red underpaint. Mounted to painted turned wood ball finial. 32"h. 15.5"w. Ex Kinnaman & Ramaeker (Bridgehampton, NY) and illustrated in an ad on page 1144 of the June 1976 issue of The Magazine Antiques.
