HANDWRITTEN LETTER SIGNED JOHN SINGER SARGENT (1856-1925).
American (New York), late 19th Century. Addressed to "Mr. Curtis" (possibly Sargent's distant cousin Ralph Wormeley Curtis (1854–1922)) and written on Sargent's letterhead. Signed. Trimmed, with some loss of text. 8.125"l. 6.625"h. Provenance: Found in frame behind lot 141, trim fits size of the watercolor paper.

**The description of the item references Ralph Curtis as the recipient of the letter from Sargent. The letter appears to be meant for Daniel Curtis, owner of the Palazzo Barbaro and father of Ralph and Osborne Curtis, both mentioned in the letter.
