Sally Ingell (Taunton, Massachusetts, 1808-1891), dated 1819. Pencil, ink and watercolor on paper. Very well executed map of the early United States by Private School student, Sally Ingell, aged 10 years, August, 23, 1819. Presented in a bird's-eye maple frame. Framed, 28.25"h. 34.25"w.

Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of the Late Ray Yoder (Bay Village, Ohio); ex Gary and Martha Ludlow (Lyndhurst, Ohio).

Cataloguer's note: Genealogical records point to a Sally Bradford Leonard Ingell (1808-1891), daughter of Abiathar Ingell (1763-1828) and Prudence Leonard (1773-1809). Sally married Dr. Benjamin Norris (1803-1870), and they had one son, Major William Evans Norris, who served as a Major in the Civil War.
