American, circa 1800. Salmon paint with black decoration, hinged lid, brass bail handle, and brass hinges. 3"h. 11.5" w. 7.5"d. With inscription inside stating "Ships paymaster cash box from inventory of Eleazer Homer, Boston, Mass. Born March 22, 1761 in Marblehead, Mass. Married Mary Bartlett November 12, 1786. Dies September 18, 1812 at sea."
