QUEEN ANNE BONNET TOP HIGH CHEST (HIGHBOY), ATTRIBUTED TO WETHERSFIELD, CONNECTICUT.
American, circa 1750-1770. Cherry with pine secondary. In two pieces. Bonnet top with broken arch pediment, turned finials, central carved rosette or pinwheel. Three over four overlapping drawers, center of three with carved fan. Base with one over three overlapping dovetailed drawers, center of three with carved fan, shaped apron with turned drop finials, cabriole legs with pad feet. Refinished with replaced brasses. 90"h. 37.5"w. 20"d. From the lifetime collection of Joanne & Dr. David Woodyard, Granville, Ohio.

  • Condition: Fan carving on the bonnet, top and base appear consistent. Drawer dove tails and molding also consistent on the top and the base. Finials appear old and also consistent with the piece. Some backboards re-nailed, some drawer front edge repair, overall good condition. JD
