American (Southwestern Pennsylvania), dated 1869. Freehand cobalt decoration with swag, stripes, undulating vine and leaf, and hand-written "Jos. {?} Shibler. aug the 31 1869." across the middle. Shibler was likely the father-in-law of Alexander Conrad of Greensboro. See Crocker Farm, March 19, 2016, Lot 274 for a remarkably similar example. Approx. 9.5"h.
