American, 19th Century. Ink and hollow-cut paper. The first a profile portrait of a boy with short hair, having an embossed label at lower right reading "Peales Museum." Framed, 5.75"h. 4.5"w. The second a profile portrait of a young woman, embellished with ink, in a wood frame. Framed, 5.25"h. 4.25"w. The third a profile portrait of a woman with an embossed label below her reading "Whennys,"in a bird's eye maple frame. Framed, 6"h. 5.5"w.

Provenance: From The Lifetime Collection of Janet & Charles Muto (Ottawa Hills, Ohio); the first two sold at DuMouchelles (Detroit, Michigan), May 20, 2007, lots 2040 and 2046; the third purchased at Grapevine Antiques (Bethesda, Maryland) in 1984.
