American (New England), 18th Century. A maple Queen Anne vase-back side chair, bow-shaped crest, block-and-spool front legs, turned rungs and worn rush seat. 17.5" seat ht. 39"h. And two painted ladderback armchairs with oak splint seats. One in red paint, spherical finials, bold turnings and arms with rolled ends. 17" seat ht. 43.5"h. And the other in black paint with acorn finials and simple turnings. 17.25" seat ht. 45.25"h.

Provenance: From the Lifetime Collection of the late Ginny and Ken Kruizenga (Kalamazoo, Michigan).
